Monitor Qualifications & Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

21 years of age;

Able to satisfy personal, child protective service, and criminal background checks that include national, state and local criminal information, a National Sex Offender Registry check; a Social Security number verification, as appropriate and permissible by law;

Able to act as an independent observer; and

Able to maintain confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of the youth during family visits.

Make a written record of each visitation.

Identify when there are concerns and follow protocol in response to it.

Follow program safety procedures.

Adhere to confidentiality policy and mandatory reporting requirements.

Be a part of a team: attend meetings and participate in ongoing training.
TRAINING:
Family Visitation Monitors are trained in parenting models, de-escalation, and confidentiality. Additionally, they are provided at least 6 hours of in-service training per year.
